The exhibitions take you through both light and dark chapters in Møn's stories - from scents, dreams and love to power, death, evil and small glimmers of hope.

After five years of careful restoration, you can experience the impressive city gate from the inside for the first time.

Step through the vaults, feel the medieval presence in the thick walls, and enjoy the view of the city and sea, where guards once scouted for enemies.

In the middle of Stege lies Empiregården – one of the city's most distinctive and traditional merchant farms.

Today the building houses the Møns Museum, but the history of the house goes back a long way and includes enterprising merchants, trading life, stables, wood-burning stoves, boulder walls, female pioneers and a fire that changed the farm forever.

Møn's Local Archives are an integrated part of Møn's Museum and contain the history of the people, associations, businesses and everyday life on Møn.

Here we preserve the written traces that shape local identity: letters, accounts, protocols, photos, memories and much more. All collected to ensure that Møn's history is not only preserved, but can also be retold and explored by new generations.
